Andalusian Culture & Civilization Tour

7 Days • 6 Nights • Malaga – Ronda – Seville – Córdoba – Granada – Valencia – Barcelona

Day 1 — Istanbul → Malaga → Ronda → Seville

After meeting at the airport, we fly to Malaga on the southern coast of Spain. Upon arrival at Malaga Airport, we board our private coach and begin exploring this ancient Mediterranean port city.

Our first stop is the historic heart of Malaga. After a short walk through the lively city square, we enjoy a panoramic view of Alcazaba of Malaga. At the foot of the fortress, we see remains from the Roman period. We then explore the ancient fish-salting areas dating back to the Phoenicians, witnessing Malaga’s thousands of years of maritime heritage. A panoramic view of Malaga Port allows us to admire the deep blue Mediterranean horizon before concluding our city tour.

Leaving Malaga behind, we travel toward Ronda, home to one of Andalusia’s most breathtaking landscapes. Built on both sides of a dramatic gorge nearly one hundred meters deep, the city welcomes us with the magnificent Puente Nuevo bridge constructed in the 18th century over El Tajo Valley. From the bridge, the sweeping views into the valley offer one of Spain’s most unforgettable panoramas.

After a short exploration through Ronda’s narrow historic streets and free time, we continue to the jewel of Andalusia, Seville. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 — Seville City Visit → Córdoba

After breakfast, we begin discovering Seville, one of the most important cities of Andalusian civilization.

Our first stop is the iconic Giralda. Built during the Almohad period in the 12th century, this elegant minaret remains one of the finest symbols of Andalusian Islamic architecture.

We then visit Plaza de España, one of Spain’s grandest squares. Built in 1929, this semicircular masterpiece features elegant ceramic decorations, canals, and arched galleries resembling an open-air museum. The colorful tile panels representing different Spanish regions reflect traces of the Moorish zellij tradition.

After completing our Seville city tour and enjoying free time, we depart for Córdoba, once one of the brightest centers of Islamic civilization in the West. Upon arrival, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 — Córdoba City Visit → Granada

After breakfast, we embark on a deep historical and cultural journey through the ancient streets of Córdoba. Once regarded as the intellectual and cultural capital of the world, this magnificent city preserves one of the greatest legacies Islamic civilization gifted to Europe.

The highlight of the day is the world-famous Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. Originally constructed in 785 by Abd al-Rahman I, founder of the Umayyad Emirate of Al-Andalus, this architectural wonder expanded over centuries and amazes visitors with its 856 columns and double-tiered horseshoe arches. The red-and-white arches create a mesmerizing endless perspective, while the golden mosaics and floral decorations of the mihrab represent the peak of Andalusian artistry.

We continue through Córdoba’s historic quarters, visiting the Andalusian Mosque, admiring the colorful atmosphere of Calleja de las Flores, and enjoying views of the Guadalquivir River from the Roman Bridge.

After a relaxing tea break in a local tea house, we depart for Granada, the final stronghold of Islamic Andalusia.

Day 4 — Granada: Alhambra Palace & City Tour

After breakfast, we visit the crown jewel of Andalusian Islamic civilization and one of the world’s most magnificent palace complexes: Alhambra.

Located on a hill overlooking the city beneath the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Alhambra was built during the Nasrid dynasty in the 13th and 14th centuries and represents the highest artistic achievement of Islamic architecture in Spain.

Every wall, column, and dome inside the palace is adorned with intricate muqarnas carvings, geometric patterns, and Arabic calligraphy, resembling poetry engraved into stone. The elegant columns of the Court of the Lions and the perfect reflections within the Court of the Myrtles make the Alhambra one of the most visited Islamic monuments in the world.

Adjacent to the palace are the breathtaking Generalife Gardens, filled with fountains, water channels, roses, and cypress trees inspired by Islamic descriptions of paradise.

We then head to the Albaicín district, where we enjoy panoramic views of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada Mountains before wandering through the narrow and steep historic streets.

Descending toward the old city center, we walk through the traditional Muslim Bazaar (Alcaicería), visit the Yusufiyya Madrasa, and arrive at Plaza Bib-Rambla, a square remembered as the place where countless Arabic manuscripts were burned after the fall of Andalusia.

After free time, we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 — Granada → Valencia

🚩 Panoramic City Tour

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Andalusia and head toward the lively Mediterranean city of Valencia.

Upon arrival, we begin a panoramic city tour with our guide. We admire the elegant façade of La Lonja de la Seda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest reminders of Valencia’s golden age as a Mediterranean trade center.

One of the highlights of the tour is viewing the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences complex from the outside.

Following the city tour, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 — Valencia → Barcelona

🚩 Panoramic City Tour & Free Time

After breakfast, we travel north along the Mediterranean coast toward Barcelona, Spain’s most cosmopolitan city.

Upon arrival, we walk along La Rambla, the city’s most vibrant boulevard lined with flower stalls, cafés, and bookshops. We continue to Plaça de Catalunya before concluding the panoramic section of our tour at Montjuïc Hill, where we enjoy spectacular views over the city and harbor.

After free time, we transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 — Barcelona → Istanbul

✈️ Return Flight

After breakfast, we enjoy free time in Barcelona. Guests may explore the colorful streets of the city, experience the lively atmosphere of La Boqueria Market, or stroll through the narrow streets of the historic quarter.

At the designated meeting time, we transfer to Barcelona Airport. After completing passport and baggage procedures, we board our return flight to Istanbul, concluding this unforgettable journey from the deep history of Andalusia to the vibrant cities of the Mediterranean.
